Sephardic
Enrichment Program Curriculum Objectives:
To help
the children develop a deeper sense of the history of Sephardic
Judaism, its present and its future.
To
provide the children with authentic, textually-based exposure to
Jewish learning from a Sephardic viewpoint,in a way compatible
with their skill level.
To
familiarize the children with uniquely Sephardic melodies and
liturgy, with a special focus on the daily, Shabbat
andholiday
prayers and songs (pizmonim).
To create
an opportunity for social bonding among the children and between
the children and the Rabbi, thus creatingand impetus for greater
involvement in community and synagogue services.
